Protecting Text and Images on Websites

Websites are easy pickings to copyright infringement, but there are certain things a website owner can do to protect both the text and the images.

  • Place a copyright notice on your Web site. Use a format such as that seen at the base of this page. You can find free scripts that automatically update the date of your copyright notice each year." © 2006-2010 Electrosmart Ltd. All Rights Reserved"
  • Add a script to page to prevent copying. If you go to Antiaging-Wellness.com and attempt to copy and paste the text, a small window will pop up and prevent you from doing so.
  • Add a script to prevent viewing of source code.
  • Add a script to prevent other websites connecting to your images. This is a common practice but by remaining vigilant to backlinks to your images folder you can soon locate the offending sites.
