Self Publishing Professional Resources
Freelance Developmental Editor
A developmental editor provides the same assistance as the editor
of a publishing house. Send them drafts and outlines for initial
guidance, and they work with you making edits to improve the book.
The big difference is that you have the final say in how your book
will read. The price of a good developmental editor is paid for
in the time you save the extra sales you will make.
You can find a developmental editor at the Literary
Marketplace
Copy Editor
A copy editor reviews your finished copy, generally improve the
writing and catch any mistakes. The best chance of ending up with
a solid, relatively error-free text, you'll probably need to bring
in an editor with some experience. After reading your own script
several times it is all too easy to overlook typos, punctuation,
grammatical mistakes and spellcheck does not pick up everything.
Editing Guidelines

or for the cover.
