Ebook Security Options
Securing your ebook from unauthorised duplication, sharing and
publication is still a challenging dilemna for many digital publishers.
Whist publishers endevour to make their books as accessible as
possible to enhance the readers experience, protecting the income
from their hard work is an equal concern.
There are two main options employed:
PDF Distribution Security - software is available
to require a login and password to open the book, which must be
connected to the Internet. A cookie placed on the readers computer,
ensures the pdf is only readable from a limited [usually 2] number
of computers
Publishing In Proprietary Ebook Reader Format -
such as Amazon Kindle, MS Ebook Reader etc
